I have been chasing a bad transfer case lever vibration for a while now,,i originaly had the anoying vibration everyone else had,,i tird off the lever for a year or so and it was ok,,but now,,no matter what i do i can't get rid of it...

I tried the TSb tip about spreading the tab spring,,i also did all the other recommended things like,,the tubing over the lever,,bending the tab,,isolating the lever bracket with rubber washers,,put sound insulation under the boot,,,but nothing works,,except for covering the lever with a towel to kill the sound,,

I noticed that even when i put the truck in neutral and coast to a stop,,the vibration noise is still there. .

I checked the u-joints and they're ok,,

Anybody have any other ideas,,,this is getting to be a pain,,i'm resisting getting a new 04 because of the reliability of the old 12 valve...

Thanks for your help.

it does it in 4x4 high and low,,as well as 2 high,,,no matter what i do,,it wont stop,,,even when i put it in neutral annnd coast to a stop it slowly reduces as the truck slows,,so i fugure its in the running gear somewear. .

Could the exhaust vibrating through the hanger thats on the T-case cause this??

I dont know what to try anymore.

Thanks
