Archived tranmission help

my 95 2000 automatic, had a problem today. i let someone use it and the auto trans quit on him. the trans does nothing, and the fuid looks nice and pink. any ideas? where should i start

Does it shift at all? Sounds like you may have broken some linkage, if its a full failure. Lay under the drivers side and have someone actuate the shifter while watching it.

How many miles?

Anyways, Welcome to the TDR! Glad to have ya. Hope its as easy as some linkage. Otherwise its transmission shop time. .

the linkage has much less tension on it now than it did proir to this happening, the linkage seems complete with nothing disconnected. is there mechanical linkage on the inside of the trans? what about the transfer case, could it be stuck in neutral? the linkage also seems fine

Sounds like you should drain down and drop the pan to see if there are any tid-bits in the pan . . .

nothing in the pan... ... ... . at the trans shop now for 2 days they think its the pump

Where in the country (State & City) are you? Be cautious of the "trans shop", depending on who's looking at it. Any news today?

I hear ya. If they can't tell you what's wrong without totally tearing it out and down - run.

The goal is - once they get it out and tear it down - you belong to them . . .

torque convertor went and wiped out the pump

be sure they flush the cooler all those pieces of the disks floating around
