NV4500, NV5600, 47RE, 48RE output configuration the same?

I am in the process of installing a '90 6BT into my '85 Chevy Crew Cab 2WD Dually. I have a '93 47RH that I need to bolt to it. Will the adapter from a '97 6BT/4WD/Auto O. D. work for me, or do I need to stick with an '89 - '93 2WD auto adapter? Thanks in advance for any information. :)

1. The 47rh was from 94-96.

2. to use any 2nd gen trans you need to match the trans to engine block adapter, So first gen trans, and adapters,2nd gen trans and adapter you can't mix and match.

O. K. , thanks. Anyone know where I can get a first gen. auto. adapter? E-Bay has been pretty dry lately, just 2nd gen's showing up there.

You said 93 47RH

Did they use an OD transmission in the 93s?

I thought the 47RH was only 94-95. Which, would mean you could use the 2nd gen adapter.

Keep in mind that first gens are far from my specialty.

Overdrives came in 91. 5 to 93' without lockup torque converter. That is where the issue will be when your looking for an engine transmission adapter, you need the adapter for lockup or not, if you have a lockup torque converter you will also need that model starter as it was different also.

89-93 non lockup trans/engine adapters

94-up lockup trans/engine adapter and starter

My fault, correct, '94 is the first year of the lockup. To double check the accuracy of the information from my builder, how can I determine by looking at the transmission if I have lockup or not?

The electrical connector that faces straight up will have 3 pins for overdrive and lock- up. If it has 2 pins, it is overdrive only.

Excellent, thanks guys. I have determined that I do in fact have a 47RH. So now, I just need to locate an adapter, starter, flex plate, dip stick & tube, insp. cover, and so on. I tried the link above from sdstriper but found a bunch of dead-ends. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I searched car-part.com and found over two dozen automatic transmission from 1994 alone, it lists the contact info. The adapters will not be listed as you could see on the parts listing, call one of the dozens there and talk to them. Your parts are there and waiting for you...

Sounds easy enough. I called 4, then sent a nationwide parts request on that site also. No luck yet. Still trying. Not sure why they would list them for sale, but not have them. Thanks ... ... .....
