Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trans-Brake

Im going to build me up a 48re here pretty soon to put in my truck and a friend of mine mentioned a trans brake, now i didnt understand much about it other than something in the transmission works against itself to build boost or whatever. i wanted to know if anybody has any knoledge or experience with these things, i want to know if its something worth having.

Trans brake puts the transmission in reverse and forward at the same time. That way you can spool up the engine and when you hit the release, it is one very fast launch. I have a friend that runs one in his buick turbo car. The thing is you can spool up the engine without having to stand on the brakes. But remember, that much TQ to your transmission and sometimes things go BANG You should be able to find info on the Buick Turbo car sites about these.

does anyone know of anybody who is running one of these on a truck like ours. i think it might be a neat deal to have for runs at the track.

Truck is too heavy and your cummins makes too much TQ it will go BANG.
