i just had to change my transmission temp sensor inside of my pan. i drained roughly 5 qts out and put 5qts back in. drove the truck and warmed it up and checked the level according to the manual. the fluid shows up on half of one side and none on the other... has anyone else encountered this? thanks. scott.

I have noticed it too, and you should note that the trans fluid temp needs to be 180* to get the top of the full mark when the transmission is filled correctly. With the pan temps at 140 or less look for the middle of the full mark. If the temp was up I would add some fluid.

shendren,

Are you checking your fluid in neutral after shifting to drive and reverse momentarily? Sounds like you are reading splash and not the real fluid level. I towed while checking the level in park when I first got my trailer. When I finally checked it correctly, I added nearly 3 quarts. You should be getting a solid fluid line on both sides of the stick.
