Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) trans fluid level q...

when checking the fluid ing the trans, i know it has to be running but is it supposed to be in neutral or park, seems i get lower reading when in neutral. just wanna make sure so im not over filling it. thanks.

It also has to be hot.

And on level ground.

Then put it in Park, and cycle through PRND21 slowly, ending up in Neutral. Then get out and check it while the engine is idling.
