I replaced the distance sensor (vehicle speed sensor to some) at the rear of the A518 today to fix the speedometer indication (zero).

When I pulled the old one out, there was a little trans fluid on the square shaft that slides into the pinion gear adapter. I left the old one off for a bit and no fluid ran out, so I installed the new one. Speedometer now works normally.

Anybody have any ideas on whether a bit of seepage will take out the new sensor? Should I have also taken out the pinion gear adapter and replaced that seal?
