I just had my trans fluid changed this morning. When I made the appt, I asked if they used genuine ATF-4, and was assured that they did. Well, when I had the service done and looked at my invoice, it said dextron iii on it. Could have been just how they have it in their computer, so I asked about it. The guy told me what they actually use is called versa and is a cheveron product, and that it covers everything. He said it is what they used the last time and the time before.

When I got home, it tried to google it and found something called VersaTrans which is a Kendall product. It says it covers Chrysler. Has anyone ever heard of or used it ?

Thanks

It is more of a commercial type atf that meets many different manufacturers requirements. It is Ford Mercon, GM Dexron, and Chrysler ATF4 compatible. At my previous employer they had a mechanic that kept up on all the maintenance schedules on the weld trucks as well as all the equipment and they bought Versa by the drum and used it in all of the vehicles with auto trans as well as alot of the equipment that called for DexronIII as a hydraulic fluid. (Air compressors, excavators, loaders, etc)
