so, i have had the truck for almost a yr and no problems so far but since mother nature decided to give up some cold spells here and there, it was a nice change from the wearing shorts for xmas, i found to have a leak on those very cold days from the trans. it seems to becoming from between the engine and trans, the small inspection cover is dry on the outside, i have not taken off yet to see inside though. it only happens when the temp gets down around low 30's. it seems red and oily. no bombs or beatin it up, it does get used with decent loads here and there. it not a serious leak it does seem to be big enough to see a differnece on the the dip stick.
I can almost garrenty that its not the transmission. Its a leak from the heater core coolant line that comes from the head and runs back behind the engine. Look REALLY close and you will find that it is coolant. There is a silicone boot that it likes to leak from. Let us know if its not and we'll go back to the drawing board.
its behind the turbo, nice and silver colored with 2 clamps on it... ... ... ... I know cause I just tightend mine and now good to go... ... ... . got this from a prior post about this condition... ... ... . PAYS to TDR
yea yall are right, the wet spot on the drive way is not leaving a mark, and i got under there and found it coming behind the engine, thanks for the replies... ... be safe... .
