My 98. 5 has a trans. fluid leak from one of the lines that connect just in front of the band adj. nut. The line seems a little loose(I just had a complete rebuild done), so I thought that I could just tighten it up. My question is how. It looks like there are two nuts (3/4 and 7/8). Does one just need to be snugged up a bit or do both? I'm not too sure how it works. Is it a compression fitting?

I believe it is a flared fitting. If it is leaking at the small nut, hold the big nut and tighten the smaller one, if it is leaking where it screws into the transmission, hold the big nut, loosen the smaller one a little then tighten the big nut then retighten the smaller nut while holding the big one. bg
