TDR MEMBER
While trying to find a noise that was driving me nuts, I spent quite a bit of time under the '01. What I noticed was that there was a crossmember on the frame in back of the transfer case. This crossmember would prevent the drive shaft from "pole vaulting" if the front u joint happened to break. However it would not prevent the drive shaft from slaming side to side into the gas tank. I remembered that I had a transmission loop that I hadn't used when I built my car. This is one of the bolt on to the body type an will just bolt on to this crossmember. For thoes of you that bomb, it might be worth peace of mind to do this. I had built one for my old chevy diesel, as they used a two piece drive shaft. I know of two instances where the drive shaft let go and punchured the gas tank. One lost the truck and trailer, with all his race quads in it. These chevy's did not put out the torque that we do even unbombed. Its easy and I'll end up doing it within the next couple of weeks. Something to think about, especially since DC made it so convenient.
