Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans not shifting 1st-to-2nd

The trans in my truck is taking forever to shift out of 1st gear. sometimes I have to let off the throttle and get back into it for it to shift Also It doesn't want to return back to first gear when I come to a stop the truck wants to start out in second gear. I have all the performance parts, and a billet converter to rebuild the trans which will be coming out this weekend, But I wanted to know if there is something else I need to replace. Someone told me it could be a solenoids jus1t want to know before I pull it if I will need to have any other parts on hand

Your trans has a tc lock-up and od soleniod. They come together as a set from dodge. As for the shifting... check the TV cable, it should have 1/16 inch at WOT, adjust as ness.
