Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Yesterday I read a thread in the search forums that talked about feeling the trans pan for heat. I don't have gauges yet. Last night after driving home ( which is about 25 min. of 70-80 mph freeway driving, and 2 min. cool down in driveway ) I shut truck off and layed on ground to touch trans pan and could only touch for 2-3 seconds before feeling a burn. I was driving unloaded. Except for 4" exhaust my truck is stock. I know this isn't exactly accurate, but without gauges it's my best guess.
Is this too hot for unloaded freeway driving?
