Trans Pan ??

I've gotten the impression that the trans pan from a 24 valve holds 1 1/2 qts. more trans fluid than 12 valve pans. . If this is true will the 24 valve pan bolt up to the 12 valve transmission. . I'm thinking a little more capacity a little more cooling. . and alot cheaper than the alum. alternative. . I know that the alum. transfers heat faster and is ribbed for better cooling but the 250. 00 is the hard part for a truck that does'nt tow. . I'm looking for something a little better than stock...
