Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trans resistor??

Has anyone every put the resistor in the line close to the truck ecm (on the firewall) instead of in the vavle body??? And if so which line is it??? The resistor is for the Trans Go shift kit.

DTT sells a variable resistor box that splices into the lines by the PCM. I am away from my truck right now or I could tell you what wires it connects to. The variable resistor is nice as you can adjust it to the exact resistance you need, not just get it close with a XXX ohmm resistor.
