trans shifting problem

i have an 03 with a 47re trans the truck will not shift out of 1st unless you put it in neutral and then back into drive i removed the trans and found the 3rd gear spring broken and the front band and drum bad replaced both and the spring . put the trans back in the truck and still have the problem any ideas

Sounds like the front band, a few things cause mine to do the same thing. First time this happened the front strut fell down into the pan, and the second time the tab on the band cracked. I had to drop the trans and replace the front band. How many miles do you have on the trans? What mods are on the truck?

i have 156,000 miles just replaced the front band

Try changing out the output speed sensor and the gov pressure solenoid if you have not done so. One or both of them can cause the symptoms you are describing.

thanks guys you both were right the gov was bad and the front band hadcome off the adjuster
