Installing a temperature gauge on my 68 RFE trans. Which line is used to attach temp sender to ? One comes out over top of the other on side of transmission. (using Genos accutemp adapter).

Thanks Larry

I would check out this post in this forum. Gauge install ???? This is on the second page dated early April I believe. This should help you out.

The line on the passenger side is going to the cooler, it will be the hottest. A little tricky getting it in there keeping the wires out of the exhaust, but it can be done.

I placed mine on the drivers side of the transmission, just above the front driveshaft yoke. I am using the line that comes out of the top of the transmission for the AcuTemp adapter. I don't actually know that this is the the "out" line, I just felt the two lines with my hand after a drive and that was definitely the hotter of the two. If you know any different please let me know.

I searched all the 68 RFE threads I could find, but still nothing definative as to whether it is the top or bottom line as it comes out of transmission.
