I just installed a DiPricol temp gauge and I wanted to ask what you guys with the similiar truck and installation are seeing for temps.

I was going to install the sender in the middle port on the passengers side but I could not get the sender threaded on there. I didnt want to strip the threads so I installed the sender in the rear port. I have read that both of these locations are good places to get the reading, but not the most accurate.

I am seeing about 135 under normal freeway drive and about 140 when I idled the truck in reverse. Is this what I should see?

Thanks in Advance

I just installed ISSPRO gauges today and my ISSPRO trans temp gauge is reading right at 160 degrees with the probe installed in the right front line plug.

I could not get the probe into the middle line plug either, the probe bottomed out on me before the threads could start taking.

I have gotten as high as 170 degrees and normal driving it is staying right around 158 degrees.

I think the front plug gets more transmission fluid, when I took out the plug it leaked transmission fluid, the middle plug did not leak at all.

I noticed the same thing. The middle port did not leak any fluid but the rear did. I also learned that the ports only have fluid in them under certain conditions (i. e. , when in D or N or R). I might try the first port to see if the readings are higher.

I don't know if its better, but I had no choice, the middle plug the probe bottoms out and front plug is the only other place the probe wires would reach, I don't know about the rear plug as my wries are to short to reach it.
