I finally got my trans temp guage hooked up(in port comming from transmission to cooler where senor was )and in about 20 seconds the guage go's to 200,all at once. Is it possible that the prob went to far into the port and is on the line inside or what could be making it do that, thanks

(in the line comming out of transmission and going to cooler)... ... ..... as soon as the truck starts, cold or hot,in about 20-30 seconds the temp guage jumps up to 200,not slowly creeps up, just right up to 200

I had a transmission temp installed on my 06

It stays on 0 pretty much on the open road but in town and heave traffic in town it starts to go up to 300 or so. When I am pulling the car trailer with a antique car inside don't cause the temp to go up much. Cit driving seams to make more heat then anything else I have found. I try to take care of the transmission. I don't horse it around at all. I have two Dodge diesel one is a 06 4door short bed 3/4 ton and the other is a Class C Motor Home that I love very much. I travel all over the country on antique car tours which I love to do. About 4 a year or so. The Dodge with the Cummins get good fuel mileage. It has lots of power also and the wife loves to drive it also.
