Installed trans temp gauge in my 95. Took out the factory temp sensor and installed the gauge sender in its place. Now for the ?. How do i turn of the dash light [temp light] and get the truck to shift into overdrive. THANKS IN ADVANCE steve
Thank Goodness!! I thought I was the only one in the country that yarded that pesky factory sensor out of there so I could install my temp gauge sender. Just about freaked when I could not get OD. Figured it out that night and put it back. I then located it just under the cooler on right hand side of engine. Put a pipe tee in and located my sender into it. I already had replaced the steel line with a one-wire hydraulic line so was flexible enough to drop down due to added length of tee-fitting.
Seems to work very well. Almost lost the transmission one day due to the steel clip disappearing which allowed the steel line to drop out of the cooler. Thats why I switched to the hydraulic style line.
There might be play enough in the factory line to do it also. Hope this helps when you decide what to do.
