trans. temp ?

I have a 04 w/ 48re and plow snow , don't tow much. What temp does your transmission get up to on your trucks? Has anyone checked temps before and after adding a finned pan? do they really help that much? Does anyone here plow and how hot does it get?

I installed a sender in the pan 2 weeks ago and so far the needle barly moves. this includes grossing 12K and driving 70 miles, still don't move. I got gauge and sender and pan plug from Geno's.
