I have a 95 reg. cab 4x4 and not a whole lot of money to spend at the moment to buy a new transmission from one of the performance shops and was woundering if puting in a converter and an afftermarket valve body would help or do I just wait a little longer and pony upp the money? I know that I need to get a trans or have mine done for the best end result, its not slipping yet but its on its way! I try to take it easy but we all know thats no fun!

Curtis, A V/b And Converter Would Help But The Real Weak Link In A 47rh Is The Planets. They Are Both Aluminum And Weak. Also The 2-3 Shift Overlap Of The 47 Is Not At All Good. This Is The Reason Everyone Speaks Of Band Adjustment On These Threads. If You Must Do Anything Start With A Valve Body For Flow In Park And Higher Pressure, Converter Feed, Clutch Clamping Force, Etc , Etc. Don't Put A Low Stall, Hard Locking Converter In The Trans When You Risk The Chance Of Stripping The Aluminum Plants Or Increasing Frt Band Wear. Or Wait Until You Have The Money For A Good Aftermarket Transmission That Addresses These Weak Components. Hope This Helps.

the 330 injectors are sold as stage 3 injectors and are bosch injectors my guess is that they are a marine application or its just something the aftermarket has come to call them. They are soposed to be in between the 315 and 370 injectors. Probobly a little to big for what I have but the price I paid for them made them unable to pass up. plus future mods will hopfully compensate.

Ok so they are not necessarily 330HP injectors but marine injectors from a 330HP marine engine. Thanks.

This is the second time I have seen you mention that you have an issue with the planets being aluminum.

I'll give you that there is an issue with the front aluminum planetary on the RH but failures of the rear planetary are very, very rare?

Yes, Cooker You Are Probably Right. I'm In Snow Country And Plow Truck Tear Them Up Left And Right. Also Anything With Horsepower. If That Was Not The Case Then Why Did Chrysler Fix The Problem With The 48re. Then Chrysler Changed The Thrust Washer Part Number In The 48. Reverse Gear Is Where The Aluminum Planet With It's Steel Plate For A Thrust Takes A Beating, But What About When The Helical Cut Gears Try To Thrust When The Converter Is Locked In A Coast Situation Like With A Torque Locker On Decel. It Is Another Weak Link That Can Be Fixed For A Few Extra Hundred Dollars When It Is Apart. I Just Don't Take That Chance.
