Call Bill K. at Diesel Transmission Technologies
At the very minimum you'll want to increase your line pressure (valve Body) while you have it apart.
Bill K. at DTT is an expert in building STRONG transmisisons - specifically Low Stall Torque Converters and HIgh Performance Valve Bodies that WILL stand the test of time against the power of the CTD. He has a web site at
www.dieseltrans.com The site isn't that impressive (IMO), but Bill's reputation and knowledge is second to none! Give him a call and see what he would recommend to given your intended use, age of your current trans, etc. He and his son won't just try and sell you their stuff. They REALLY know this business and will help you decide what options and upgrades (if any) are best for YOU. Call them at 1-800-922-7782. It won't cost you anything and you can walk away being able to consider good options and decide what you want to do from there.
I have a complete trans on order with them at this very moment. For me, it didn't make sense to put a new TC and VB in my stock trans with 145k miles so I went for the full trans. Several other members in my area have them and LOVE them... say it makes an entirely new truck. Bill custom builds EACH trans to EACH customer based on their elevation, HP, gear ratio, intended use, etc. He can answer any ? you might have and would be a wealth of knowledge for someone like you who's wondering what to do.
Yes, there are others - ATS, BD, etc. I'm sure other members will let you know what they like as well.
I would highly recommend that your first step should be calling Bill. He'll get you thinking on the right track.
Good luck.
