Trans Upgrades

I've read alot of posts regarding trans upgrades. I'm thinking of adding a 60hp box. The person at the shop said that the stock trans would hold up w/no problem with only a 60hp box. However, I HATE the way the trans shifts from 1st to 2nd!!

While it's there, should I also add a shift kit to tighten the 1st to 2nd shift?? The other gears shift OK. As always, your opinions are appreciated!

I would call Bill Kondolay at DTT or 866-504-4002 and get an experts opinion.

Sure the trans will hold 60 more hp. The TC probably won't. The lockup will slip with the added hp and torque. This will put more trash into the trans and that will shorten life of the trans and TC.

If all your going to do is 60 extra HP then a shift kit ( if you can do it yourself, cheaper ) or an after market valve body should work out fine. If you go any further than 60 extra Hp then you eventually will run into problems sooner than later, I meant that to be sooooneer than later.
