While i'm in gear 4th or 5th only the truck trys to enguage in 4wd it seems and in neutral in 5th sometimes. only when my foot is not on the gas. Never get in 4wd or neutral but is grinding like a mother till I push the clutch in.
Took the drive shaft off and the snap ring was still there, so that is more than likely not it...
I talked with Gillies and they do not have a kit for my transfer case. He said if the snap ring is still there then it is more than likely good as their really isn't anything to wear on the ring.
He told me to check the shift fork pads and hubs. When the gas is released everything wants to move forward and it will try to engage sometimes.
Never heard of that stuff before... . How would we open that up to look at it and what would be looking for??
Is it even that?
