transfer case/ 4 wheel low

2018 ram 2500 with manual shift case. Very hard to shift to low range. It is automatic trans. diesel engine It will shift to 4 wheel hi, no problem Need help.

Tell us "how" do you do a shift. Because there are better and worse way to do it.

Transmission must be in neutral, truck stopped or a gentle roll, again trans in neutral, under 5 mph.

Free drivetrain. Neutral, foot off brake. Sometimes requires gentle drive to reverse then neutral to ensure the driveline is totally unloaded. Then it’s still stiff. I use 4lo regularly and it’s still stiff after 100;000 + miles.

If you have the slightest thought that you may need 4 wheel low, engage it before you get in a bind.
