Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel filter drain valve stuck

Read a couple of post that after changing transfer case fluid the plugs tend to leak as that are just pipe type plugs and dont run up against a sealing surface. I'm changing mine this weekened hopefully, and was wondering what to put on the threads of the plugs. I have a tube of Permatex Ultra Blue laying around, would a little on the outer most threads work well, or it there something else the works better?

Thanks in advance and happy holidays.

I've drained and refilled a few and have not used anything (as far as sealer) on the plugs. Yes they're a tapered type plug and will seal as you tighten down on them.

Others here may have used say teflon tape or pipe dope sparingly with no problems. I haven't.

Ultra blue..

The ultra blue will harden and leave chunks in there. You may have some chunks get in the threads and cause a sealing problem. Some may also get into the transfer case. I don't know if our transfer cases have oil pumps or not, but I would not want those chunks running in there. You would be much better sealing the threads with vaseline, chassis grease, or anti-sieze than thread tape, RTV, or ultra blue.
