What do you guys think about using one of those manual transmission filters for the PTO port on the transfer case. I'm thinking it can't hurt, but is it a waste of time & money? Do they really work?

My 2 Cents... .

Of all the things to change fluid on... the Transfer case isn't the easiest...

First you will need a fluid "Pump" 5-10 bucks at the local auto parts store. . No biggie.

Then you need to REMOVE the "Bash Plate" under the truck.
Again 4 bolts... not too bad...

Next. . remove the top plug... put a pan under the X-fer case. . remove Bottom plug. . and watch it drain. .

when empty replace bottom plug.

"Pump" in some NEW Mopar ATF+4 'till the level gets to the bottom of the top plug.
replace top plug... "Bash Plate" and your DONE!!!

All in all. . not too bad... . and may not be "Worth" the trouble of a filter.

Just change it every 30,000 miles . . and LOVE LIFE!!!!
