I was under the truck last night looking for any signs of a coolant leak and didn't find any. I like rolling around under there so I made my way back and noticed transmission fluid leaking from the front of the transfer case. The leak is just behind the rear transmission mount (rubber isolated), and just above the main crossmember under that section.

This morning before I left work, I cleaned the area with a rag and some brake cleaner. After I got back to work from lunch I looked under there and it's wet again.

So, I'm taking it in tonight to swap our Ram for our Durango that's been with the dealer two weeks today (another story. )

I wonder if this is some new program with multiple Dodge owners that eliminates the need for courtesy rides and loaner vehicles.

This might be a dumb question, but do the transfer case and transmission share fluid on the automatic 4x4s?

No, but they do use the same type of fluid, so the leak could be either the output seal on the transmission or the input seal on the transfer case.
