Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transfer case oil ?

Hello to all, Little bro has an 2000 s/o w/6 speed and was wondering what you all have had sucess with in the trans case. Unsure if these have the same requirment of atf+4 like my 04. 5?

ATF dextron III will be sufficient

ATF is definately sufficient but there are better choices.



My favorite is Royal Purple Synchromax. Synchromax is a light weight oil about the same viscosity as ATF. I've run synchromax in the xfer case for 5 years.

Redline MTL in both the transmission and the transfer case.

I put Amsoil ATF in my transfer case.



Stuff that came out with only 42k looked pretty nasty. Definitely a good idea to change it.

I know for my '98. 5 Mopar says ATF+3, that's what I put in mine. I believe the t-case is the same for you truck, NV241D.

Amsoil ATF here as well. Not sure how much better Amsoil ATF is then ATF+4, but I do know that I added more oil to the T-case, then came out.
