in this picture the transfer case output shaft for the front axle comes out on the passenger side. in my ranger the output shaft for the front axle comes out on the drivers side. are there any transfer cases that can bolt to the NV4500 with the output shaft on the drivers side?if not what can i do to hook up the front axle so i will have 4wd?

Setup will be:

1993 ford ranger 4x4 with 4bt and nv4500

I used an adapter from Advance Adapters to mate a ford NP205 (driver's side output) to my NV4500. But you can probably find other transfer cases that will bolt right in.

Look for a newer dodge tansfer case. They come out the driver's side. Don't know what year they switched to the driver's side though. Ask Advanced Adapters, they will know.

Curious what your engine came out of. Looks like it's intercooled with the preheater grid. I did not see one like that when I was in the hunt for mine.

One more question

Is your intake plate flat on top or does it have extra material where the preheater mounts? I'd like to put the 6bt preheater on mine. I just have a 2" hose bib looking up on mine. Wondering if I can just slice that hose bib off and tap the plate for the heater grid.

NO! This is the last question.

Do you have seals separating your nv4500 oil from your transfer case transmission fluid? I don't and am thinking of just changing my transfer case to the same oil that's in the nv4500.
