Second day of the matic to 4500 conversion...

I bought what I thought was the right input to take the 5 speed.

As shown below, it is different from the auto matic.

The shaft input size is correct to take the five speed, but the thing wont fit into the planetaries all the way. It gets hung on the bearing because of the larger surface as shown in the picture...

How can they be different?

Could this be the input for the heavy duty transmission?

Any of you guys had a transfer apart to convert from auto to standard?

Any idea why this thing has a longer section as shown?

My transfer is in pieces, My poor truck sits in Lebanon crying to me... :(

I wanna drive my truck!

I guess I should let you know why...

There are a couple of different inputs they used on the transfer case.

One is for a "double bearing", one is for a "single bearing"... .
 
On the inside it says, "Well, my butt IS bigger than my heart... and I wanted you to get as much thanks as possible. "
