Transfer Case Question

Does the nv241 take gear oil or transmission oil , I'm just going the finish my Amsoiling... ... I have a 96 3500 how much oil does the dana 60 up front and the dana 80 in the back take ???

Can't answer your gear oil question, but the NV241 calls for ATF. It doesn't necessarily need to be +3 or +4, Dexcron (sp?) will work just fine.

To do the front and back takes almost exactly 8 qts. One is slightly above 4 qts and the other slightly under.

I thought we had dana 70's in the front and depending on trans a 70 for auto or 80 for manual in the rear??? Correct me if im wrong.

The bolt patter on the 60's and the 70's is the same. This may have caused you the confusion.
