Transfer case Refill Qty?

To Anyone who has a factory manual. I would like to know the Refill qty of fluid for my Transfer case on my 01,2500 w/ auto.

Planning on doing a change soon & want to have correct amount on hand.

NV231 and the NV231HD fluid capacity is 2. 5 pints.

the 231 is not the case behind the diesel. my 241hd takes close to 4 qts ... it says 4. 7 pints but i think it takes more ??? now i'm confused ...

Oops, sorry for the confusion.



I just looked up in the 2001 Service Manual. The NV241 takes 4. 61 pints (2. 18 Liters). The NV241HD takes 6. 51 pints (3. 08 Liters).

Fill it till oil comes out of the fill hole... . re install the fill plug, drive the truck a little, re check the level... add more oil if needed
