I travel a LOT and when looking under the truck today I noticed a lot of oil along the frame all the way back, it's coming from the transfer case at either the door (PTO access?) on the right side or near the right/bottom of where the case bolts to the transmission... what is the likely cause... front transfer case seal, anyone been down this road and how tough is it to change?

Thanks...

John

Check your output shaft or your Driveshaft Yoke.

I've had a history of problems. Just got a new Transfer case and I still have it.

I'm droppin my Driveshaft next week and filling the yoke end with silicone to see if it seals it.

Driveshaft end next to the yoke is dry... all the fluid is on the right lower side near the transmission and the access door/hatch... it's the blown down the frame towards the rear... I know it's the transfer case because it's low (not the transmission)

I had a similar problem. It only happened in cold weather, but in approximately the same location. Turns out that it was a leaking coolant hose clamp that was dripping coolant down the right side of the engine, which was running down to the transfer case.
