Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transfer Case What Happend???

So there i was getting ready to hook up to the sled for my final pull of the season and nothing not a dang thing i didn't have any foward or reverse gears in 4 low and only the rear spun in 4 hi drives fine in 2hi and when i put it in to 4 low i hear banging clanking and i am afraid it is a broken shaft but in 4hi i don't have this banging and clanking could it be my shifter fork any help before i tare in to this would be helpful also does any one know where i could get a heavyer duty transfer case i have the 241 hd thanks in advance

Did you check underneath? Last time it happened to me while I was towing in awd low, the front shaft got loose, swang and hit the transfer case making a fist-size hole in its side. All linkages got ripped out. Quite an unforgettable experience.

front drive shaft is ok no leaks and both drive shafts spin normal i have checked the vacum lines to the accuater and both are fine we think it is the linkage from the shifter to the transfer case but that still dont explain why i dont have 4wd in hi range or does the linkage have to be just right
