Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transfer case

Can anyone please tellme how to change the transfer case oil. Truck is a 95 with 169 mi and has never been done. Is there a drain plug? Is there a fill plug? Should I have a pro do it ?????

Two plugs, one above the other on the rear of the transfer case. bottom one is the dran plug and top one is the fill. Easy to change, do it yourself.

I don't have a 95 but mine has a drain plug and a fill plug higher up. Takes all of 15 minutes to complete the job. I have the nv241hd case. Just a side note if your drain is the same as mine make sure and strategically place the catch pan as I was quite suprised at how far out the draining oil shot.

What they said and the plugs can be found on the drivers side on the back of the case. They look like pipe plugs with spots to put hexagon/allen wrench or was it square drive - Oh well you'll see them.

You can also eliminate some mess by dropping the skid plate before you drain it.
