I have recently come across a very good deal on a used 50 gallon toolbox/fuel tank combo from Transfer Flow. It was previously installed on a Ford Superduty, and I'd like to install it on my 94 CTD. I have spoken to Transfer Flow a couple of times about the compatibility of this tank with my truck. Originally they told me it would be $105 for the new display unit. The seller told me he had talked to them and they quoted around $170, so I called again with a little more information. This time they said $220-250 for the wiring harness, new TRAX II system and fillneck adapter. The seller called me back, and he works for one of their distributors, so he offered to call them and ask, and they told him that this cannot be done, because they don't offer a kit for pre-2000 Dodges because of our OEM sending unit woes.

After that long story, can anyone clear this up for me? You can order these tanks for my truck, so it stands to reason they can switch out the wiring to make this one work, right? Does anyone who has one on an early 2nd gen know how this conversion works? I would like to do this as inexpensively as possible, but ultimately it will save me money, so I don't mind spending a little to make it happen. Any help is appreciated.

Does anyone even have one on an early second gen truck at all? Perhaps that is the better question after no response for a while.

Again, any help is appreciated,
