Back in `99 I had a 74 gallon Transfer Flow cross bed tank installed. It has been one of the best additions I have made to my `99 PU. However, several weeks ago the cover that protects the hoses and fittings on the top of the tank flew off. I was able to find it and it suffered no damage. The cover was held in place with glue or tape which strikes me as a bit of poor engineering but then it did last over six years. My problem is I have not found anything to replace whatever was used in the first place. I E-mailed Transfer Flow asking what I should use and never received a reply. Has anybody else had this problem and how did you solve it.

I have a 98 gallon Transfer Flow on my 2001. I have nothing but praise for the tank but had the same problem with the cover coming loose after several years. What I did was clean the area very well and applied 100% clear silocone and it seems to have done the trick. It has been sticking for 2 or 3 years now. Good Luck!

Maybe the 3M VHB tape (grey spongy stuff that is a PITA to remove) used to install side molding? I think I've seen it at WalMart as well as most auto parts stores.

The silicone I user was made by GE. It says silicone 2 on the tube and I bought mine at Home Depot. You can buy the same stuff at any good hardware store.

It gets pretty cold here in Estes Park Co. We live at 8000ft. It was 15 to 20 below a couple of times this last winter. There may be as good or better stuff available. This worked for me better than the original.
