Having been mulling over various tanks to be used for hauling tractor fuel, I got a steel tank only because the price fit my present budget. Still drooling over the aluminum tanks though. Anyway, I was thinking of placing a piece of 1" horse mat between the tank and my aluminum bed. The mat has ridges which would be on top to allow air under the tank to minimize chafing and rust. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The mat idea would work. Or, you could have a company lie Rhino Liner or one of the other spray on liner companies spray your tank bottom. You can also use the stuff in cans. I saw a contractors truck with the bed and fuel tank sprayed with a Rhino liner.

EMDDIESEL,

Rhino would work but I have leftover sections of cut up mats, that was why I thought of that route. The tank has mounting flanges welded to the bottom but the middle will belly enough to rub. Thanks for the reply
