just had an Edge with attitude CTS2 programmer installed what are safe transmission temps and Exhaust temps to watch. truck is a 2004 Dodge 3/4 ton Slt 4 door I will be towing a 32 ft 5th wheel Gvwr 10,500 ?
Thanks for the infoWelcome to TDR, Mark.
EGTs shouldn’t exceed 1300*. That’s the temp your pistons will start to melt down. Temps over 1300* for VERY short periods, I’m talking seconds here, will typically not cause damage unless you do it repeatedly.
I don’t like to see transmission temps over 190*. Some say up to 200* is ok. A lot of it depends on where your temp sensor is located. Mine is in the line going TO the cooler. In my opinion thats the only way you get the true fluid temp. Pan temps can be significantly lower and temps AFTER the cooler are going to be even cooler.
Have fun with your new rig.

What is the build date? The 04.5 can handle a little higher EGT's, but 1300* is a good number not to exceed. Thanks for the info
