transmission and rear end lube questions

Here's one for you oil experts.



What other grades(not brands) of gear lube can be used in the NV4500?

Factory calls for 75W-90



What would happen if you used 85W-140 in it?



Also, can the rear end use the same grade of gear lube used in the transmission, or does it have to be the 80W- 90?

The 140 is too thick, it will make too much heat.



There is only one 75-90 that I trust in the rear AND the NV 4500.

Wonder what you could use 85W-140 in?

You could put it your rear. But you only need a 140 if you are towing. But if you are towing, you should use a synthetic 140.



You found some cheap, didn't you?
