I have done a bit of research and I can't seem to come up with the proper band adjustments for a built 12/90 A727 3 speed transmission. I adjusted the front(kick down) to 72 inch pounds then backed out 2 1/2 turns, the rear band 72 inch pounds and backed out 2 turns. If some one can verify that this is right or wrong I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

In my book it has the same.

Front is 72 inches then back 2. 5

Rear is 72 inches then back 2

I do this to both trucks once each year. They seem to like the attention.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the original low/reverse band adjustment and it was over 8 turns out. This is a heavily used snow plow truck so it gets many forward-reverse cycles and must have a lot of drum and band wear. How are these A727 transmissions modified? On the build tag it uses the words "A727 modified"

I am not the in-house transmission guru. I only do what others do.

Some say 30 weight oil is good. Some like aluminum pistons compared to the plastic. Some replace the aluminum internal pieces with steel and or heavier steel parts. I don't know. A shift kit too I suppose, but I don't have one. I like the way it shifts.

Tighter torque converter.
