Transmission Band ????

When you pull out from a stop is the low/reverse band clamped to the drum and the 2/3 band loose? When it shifts to 2nd does the low/reverse band release and 2/3 band clamp down or versy visey?

Enquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Get a factory service manual!!!

The low reverse band is only applied in MANUAL low and reverse.

The front band is only applied for 2nd gear--in selected '2' and drive.

Rear band is applied in manual 1st and reverse only. In auto mode it is not applied only the rear clutches. Front band and clutches are not applied.



In 2nd gear front band is applied with the rear clutches still applied. Shift to drive is front band release front clutch apply with rear clutches still applied.
