A month ago, I had the beast at the FDD (friendly Dodge dealer) for transmission proglems (no TCC lockup). They end up channging the TC (torque converter) and VB (valve body - for a broken bracket). And a month prior I had it in for vacuum pump leaking oil (it was replaced). Lot of $$$ on my DC extended warranty. Two weeks ago I take it back for some hard shifting complaints and an oil leak. My FDD pulls the transmission and finds TC clutch material in the pan and a front pump seal leaking. The FDD calls DC for approval and they send an inspector out to look at it-- 1-1/2 WEEKS LATER! He's there ten minutes and takes some pics and sends his report to DC. Last Friday they announce that they're denying my claim AND canceling my contract because I have added an engine brake to the truck, and that it caused the TC failure. Nobody that makes decisions will talk to you on the phone. I send them an overnight demanding proof of their claims (under Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), or authorize the fix. I know I've read in this site that we are our own warranty - but that's only when it makes SENSE! I think they're just trying to get out of paying out more bucks that the warranty calls for. I think the TC was a bad part - failing after two weeks of normal city driving. My FDD is actually on my side and is trying to help!

ANY WORDS OF WISDOM OUT THERE??? I know we love DC!

If there was ever an advertisement for installing the factory approved Jacobs exhaust brake... . I guess this is it!...

I was debating which one to install, guess this case just made up my mind!

I installed the BD components myself - had it checked by a local BD rep. My FDD knew the stuff was on the truck - we even duscussed it's connections and operation - after which they had no problems and got authorization to perform previous repairs - like the TC & VB!!!

Has anybody had any luck using the merrits of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which states that coverage cannot be denied by mere implication of an aftermarket device, but by inspection and proof that the failed unit was damaged by the add-on(s). There were no disassembly/inspections in this case! :-{}
