Archived transmission Clutch Problems...Help!

Today Max (95 3500 2wd) had a big problem... pulled to a stop lite and truck started shakin and vibratin all over and wouldnt go into gear so i shut it off and put it in gear and fired it up. It went fine to the next lite and started vibrating again and then a loud bang and nothing. If you push the clutch in, everything sounds fine, but when you let it out it will not go and just makes a terrible noise. I dragged it to a friends shop and there it sits... I will get a chance to tear into it tomorrow, but I could use some help. To me it sounds like the transmission (NV4500), but I guess it might be the clutch (SBC Con-O). Any advice or help with finding parts would be appreciated.

It may be the clutch slave cylinder not engaging or disengaging the clutch fully. Then you get that shudder and vibration as the clutch slips when you you try to drive it. Check that, too and call Peter at South Bend Clutch.
