Currently stranded in Mesquite, NV for 5 days. Transmission ate itself up. I'm replacing it, but need to put in a new check valve in the cooler line as it appears that was the cause of the failure. It's located in a transmission cooler line. I've heard it called a check valve, a ball valve, a cooler line valve, etc. No schmatic I've seen shows the valve actually inside the line. I've tried dealers, etc. , and no one can seem to identify the part. I need an exact part name, and/or or a part number. This is OEM, and appartently can't be bought aftermarket. The part has to be replaced with a new one or the transmission warranty will be voided. Otherwise I would just remove the valve from the line. Any help would be appreciated as I'm 1200 miles from home.

Do yourself a favor. Dont put it back in. They are notorious for deystroying transmissions. Take a hand drill and drill out the plastic ball that is inside the cooler line and re-install the same cooler line without the check ball inside. It just may save you from replacing another transmission. My transmission man told me it was best to do it that way. The check ball area of the line clogs up and restricts the flow of trans fluid back to the planeteies in the transmission and the get fried.
