Transmission cooler line damaged

Somehow I missed that my fender liner was rubbing against a transmission cooler line. Rubbed a hole in mine & was leaking. As a temporary fix, I cut the damaged section out & used some transmission cooler line & clamps to get me by. I'd like a more permanent fix than this, but I also don't want to spend the $600 for the complete assembly. Anyone have any good suggestions for a good reliable permanent fix?

Well, my redneck mind came up right quick with three options:

• Braze/solder it up (Too late...)
• Epoxy (Too late...)
• Find one in a salvage yard, cut part of it out, and use brass compression unions

I would leave as is! I would have gone the epoxy rout but too late as mentioned.

If you can get access to a flare tool I would put a bit of flare on the cut ends to keep the hose clamp from being able to just pull off and call it good.

Measure the UD of the line and get a compression hose Barb connection, so you can fix that professionally.

Agreed...flare or barb of some type. I fixed a line the same way on my old Ramcharger (just a hose), hose clamps were tight and I checked them occasionally. It still eventually popped off. I then put flares on each tube and put the hose back on, worked fine after that.
