How does the transmission fluid cooling work? Is the system in an "always on" state, cooling continuously or is it operated by a thermostat where it'll only only allow fluid to the front cooler if temps exceed a certain threshold... . similar to engine coolant?

If the system is active cooling tripped by a thermostat, what's the temperature tripping point? I can't seem to find anything about this in the service manual that I downloaded from the HEMI site.

I think it's pumping continous. Why? because guys are flushing their system by reming the hose going to the cooler while adding the new fluid.

The fluid-to-fluid cooler on the side of the block limits flow to the air cooler on the front until the temps hit about 140, I believe. It uses engine coolant to warm the fluid faster and keep it warm in cold conditions.

Flushing the system is done with the return line not the output line. When in gear the fluid is constantly flowing. ;)
