Hoping for some advice. 93 W250, w automatic Transmission.
I understand that our transmission return lines go through the heat exchanger. Is their any value to bypassing the heat exchanger all together.
It seems to me that it would only increase the temps in the lines vs. keeping it cooler.

What have your experiences been ?

When you need it the heat exchanger is a huge heat sink fro the trans fluid. If you don't tow heavy then it is of marginal use but you will need a much larger cooler with a thermostat controlled fan on it.

Also helps get the transmission temps up when it's cold. She won't shift into OD until fluid temp is above 50*, I think it is?
